Landmark moment for Landmark Systems

This month Landmark KEYPrime customers will receive their last physical update disk. In the future the programme updates will be automatically sent to the thousands of computers ready for users to confirm on screen the upgrade of data.

The spring 2016 release for the KEYPrime Accounts and Property Management range is version 5.5 and will be the last DVD sent in the post.  Crispin Rocholl, Product Director, commented on the last disk installation: “This has been one of our objectives for Landmark and is in line with our aim to provide a more streamlined and environmentally friendly service.  Using the internet to deliver future programme updates automatically will speed up the install for users and reduce Landmark’s carbon footprint. DVD’s will be reserved for initial installation, so this last disk should be kept in a safe place in case of a new PC in the office, or for an occasional special case.  Don’t throw it away!”

Clients will receive an explanatory guide on installation and configuration for the most common scenarios so that nothing which appears on screen is a surprise, for example a message will appear after installation stating that KEYPrime needs to configure itself, and this happens automatically. The Installer program takes a little longer to check the system before progressing and clear prompts will guide the user through the one-off simple steps.

Apart from Automated Updates and smaller, more efficiently compressed backups which are features of the Launchpad screen, two popular improvements within the Daybook in version 5.5 Accounts are firstly the Quick Pay facility where individual or a group of invoices may be selected from the Sales and Purchase Invoice and Credit Note Daybook screens and quickly paid.   Secondly, a number of invoices may be put on or taken off ‘hold’ simultaneously, which is a time-saver for businesses for example in the fresh produce sector with multiple products and large numbers of invoices in the system.

KEYPrime Property users will be interested to explore the a new feature in the Diary section, for example reminders can be set to appear in minutes, hours, days, weeks or months ahead of a diary date.  An enhanced post code search allows the user to short cut from the property post code to Mapping utilities including Google Maps, Bing Maps and Street View.

Users of the NewAge Prime Hosted Service, Shared Server RISC Hosting or RISC Dedicated Hosted Server need not worry about the installation procedure, Crispin Rocholl advises: “Clients who have already opted to have their data managed from a hosted cloud platform will be familiar with automatic programme updates and data upgrades so they will be going straight to the update notes to see what new facilities and improvements we have included.   As always our technical support team will be ready and waiting to help with any install or new feature questions and our advice is to save your work before any installation just in case you need to re-start your computer.”
