Landmark Systems is delighted to announce a new link between its established KEY Property software and Sage Accounts opening up the market for existing Sage users to integrate their accounts with their property data reducing duplication and increasing efficiency.
Operating in the property and rural business sectors, Landmark Systems provides innovative software solutions predominantly in the management of property and accounts through its KEY range.
KEY Property software is a fully integrated management program which was launched in the nineties as a standalone product. A powerful management tool in its own right, but when linked to KEY Accounts it transforms data entry as the information transfer between the two systems becomes the norm. For example, rent demands in KEY Property automatically sit on the debtors list in KEY Accounts – there is no need to open up accounts and re-enter the debtor.
The advantages of integration prompted an increased demand for a link from users with accounts on a separate system, for example Sage. Typically investors, managing agents, landlords and rural estates are using KEY Property and for those using Sage they now have the flexibility to enjoy the benefits of information transfer without having to change their accounting software.
Managing Director of Landmark Systems, Nigel Parsons, commented:
“The advantage that proper integration provides is that data, for example tenants and rent demands, can be set up and entered directly into KEY Property and then imported directly onto Sage. This therefore avoids duplication of records and will save the property company, individual or rural estate time and effort over the previous use of two unlinked programs. This new link solves the problem of having to change accounting software when Sage is on-site and KEY Property has been selected as the right property management tool for the job. It increases its viability in the non-rural sector where Sage is commonly used.”
Hovingham Estate in North Yorkshire is pleased about the addition of a link in KEY Property. The estate was using an old system to raise rent demands and it was geared around the standard rate of VAT at 17.5%, taking extra effort to work out the new VAT rate of 15%. They had very limited information on their old system relating to property details but wanted to keep it so as not to duplicate records. KEY Property was selected for the estate to build up a detailed system of records on individual properties and to set up a diary and terrier system to provide reminders for example on rent reviews and maintenance schedules.
Even though Hovingham is only in the early stages of using KEY Property with the link to Sage Accounts, they find that they are able to issue demands and dates with more ease than their old standalone system, especially as they are now able to change the VAT rate and raise queries for certain dates making the accounts run more smoothly.
Louise Simpson uses the linked software and believes it to be beneficial in keeping track of what goes on at the estate. She commented:
“The link between KEY Property and Sage was essential for us in providing more detailed queries but not duplicating records to carry this task out. The link has not only made using the software easier but has allowed us to keep a closer track on dates to raise rent demands and maintenance. We are also very lucky that Landmark Systems provide great after care in helping us use the system to the best of its capability.”
